PSRM position on vaccination

Socialist MPs say some politicians continue to strain the situation regarding the registration of the Sputnik V vaccine in our country. Parliamentarian Vladimir Odnostalco mentions that statements are being heard that the vaccine produced by Russia would be ineffective. As for the fact that several doctors from the south of the country refrained from immunizing themselves with AstraZeneca, the deputy says that it is the problem of the authorities, because the medical workers were not offered the possibility to choose the vaccine. Odnostalco says deputies need to provide citizens with the vaccine and help the authorities in the immunization process, reports Moldova 1.

"Unfortunately, we are currently witnessing some attempts to discredit certain vaccines. I am referring here to the Sputnik vaccine. Previously, artificial barriers were created not to register this vaccine and there were discussions that it would not be effective just because it is not from Europe, but from the Russian Federation. Some politicians are also trying to diminish the importance of this vaccine and, implicitly, of the immunization process," mentioned Vladimir Odnostalco.

Last week, the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency announced that the vaccine against COVID-19 produced by the Russian Federation Sputnik-V was registered in the Republic of Moldova.
