Agreement on establishing political movement "Unirea", signed today
The agreement establishing the “Unirea” Political Movement was signed today by the leaders of 5 parties: Liberal Party, National Liberal Party, Romanian People’s Party, Democratia Acasa and the Union Save Basarabia, Mesager reports.
The event took place at the bust of the poet Mihai Eminescu on the Alley of Classical Writers.
The founding parties should have a joint agenda of events and activities about the Union and announce that they will have one candidate for presidential elections in the autumn, designated by citizens through polls.
The signatory parties also invite other political groups to join the Movement.
"Today is a day that is expected for 30 years, because in 1989 the National Liberation Movement was created for unification with Romania. We put an end to division in our society. We will allow every vote of citizens from Moldova and those who settled abroad, to be a useful vote, a vote of hope, a vote for the truth, for a better life within NATO and the EU, within the Great Romania”, said the leader of PL Dorin Chirtoaca.
