Meeting between PSRM and Bloc ACUM

The representatives of the Bloc ACUM accepted the invitation of the Party of Socialists of Moldova (PSRM) and came to Parliament to discuss the creation of a parliamentary majority. But the leaders of the parties lacked talks. Following the talks, the two parties made press statements, ACUM stating that they would not make a coalition with the PSRM, and the Socialists said they had only two options, a possible coalition with the Bloc ACUM or early elections.

"About a coalition, as PSRM insisted, we can not discuss. And this is very clear. Somewhere, we doubt this push from the SPRM for a coalition," said Mihai Popsoi, vice-president of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS).

"We have been mandated in this Parliament to deoligarchize the country. We have once again mentioned that we do not see a coalition with the PSRM, but we are ready to talk with all those who are available to help release this state from fear," said Alexandru Slusari, vice president of the Platform of Dignity and Truth.

In their turn, the PSRM specified that the party has only two options, a possible coalition with the Bloc ACUM, or early elections.

"We do not want early elections, but if there is no other solution, then we do not see how we can fix these things in the near future and exclude them. It is surprising that a block of 26 mandates insists on the position of speaker and prime minister. We have taken note of this position and will make an announcement tomorrow at the meeting of the Republican Council of PSRM. We want to be taken into account our vision as well," said Ion Ceban, secretary for ideology of PSRM.

Previously, the Bloc ACUM refused both the Socialists' call to sit at the discussion table and the repeated invitations of the Democrats, listing the proposed negotiations as a possible betrayal of the electorate. Later, the Bloc ACUM launched an invitation to all anti-oligarchs. However, only three deputies of the Sor Party came to the meeting. On April 8, the Bloc ACUM launched an invitation to PSRM for public discussions, who avoided giving an answer, saying the decision was to be taken at the meeting of the party's political executive committee. Subsequently, in a press conference, the PSRM announced a series of conditions, including the proposal that Zinaida Greceanii, the party's leader, be proposed to Speaker. On April 10, PSRM launched an invitation to discussion to the Bloc ACUM.
