Igor Dodon pays a working visit to Germany

Moldovan President Igor Dodon pays a working visit to Munich, Germany, Radio Moldova reports.

The head of state will participate in the International Security Conference - one of the most prestigious international forums in which security issues are debated at European and Euro-Atlantic level.

"Over 100 heads of state and government, foreign ministers and defense ministers from around the world attend the event. The conference will be held from 15 to 17 February. I will have meetings with several high-ranking officials in this Forum", said the president in a post on a social networking site.

The prime minister assisted by the Foreign Minister traditionally represents Moldova at this conference. Asked by the deschide.md website, MAEIE announced that the Government of Moldova will not participate this year at the Munich Conference.

Also, the ministry reminds that the Republic of Moldova is a parliamentary republic.

Thus, according to the Constitution, this presupposes that the major decisions of the state, in particular regarding foreign policy and settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, are within the competence of the Government and of the Parliament.
