Government endorses 2 draft laws

The Cabinet of Ministers issued a positive opinion today on two draft laws. One of these aims to amend the articles of the Fiscal Code and Customs Code, which expressly state that the goods marketed by shops, bars and duty-free restaurants are exempted from VAT payment and excise duty only if they are located at exit from the country, reads a Government press release.

The draft also provides for the abolition of VAT and excise duty exemption for petrol products marketed in the customs control area.

The second bill, positively endorsed by the Cabinet of Ministers, envisages changing the status of the positions of "Secretary General of the Government", "Secretary of State" and "Deputy Head of the State Office of the State Chancellery" public office in positions of public dignity, as well as the establishment of the "secretary general of the ministry", which will replace the position of "general secretary of state". Also, the document aims to delimit the powers of "secretary of state" and "secretary general of the ministry".

Also today, the Government approved a decision amending the composition of the Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation. Thus, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Vasilii Şova, was appointed Moldova’s  new president of the Commission. The project was drafted in the context of the new Government.
