Over 50 million lei for 2014 parliamentary elections
2014 parliamentary elections will cost 52 million lei. The Central Election Commission (CEC) adopted the budget for electoral run to be held either at the end of 2014 or beginning of 2015.
The Commission determined that it needs 41 million lei for activity next year, without costs for holding elections. This sum includes 30 million lei for purchasing computers for every mayor’s office for the electronic register of voters and for connecting them to the Internet. Every electoral office will have by two computers.

The CEC also earmarked 300,000 lei for organizing possible new local elections, in case a mayor decides to resign.  

The mandate of current Parliament expires at the end of November 2014 and then ordinary parliamentary elections will be organized in a period of 60 days.
