Hundreds of protesters have been arrested in Belarus

Belarusian security forces arrested hundreds of protesters in Minsk on Sunday, called by the opposition a "neighbors' march," according to police and a human rights organization, Reuters reported, quoted by news.ro.

Thousands of protesters gathered in various locations, mostly in remote neighborhoods of the capital, and demonstrated in the streets demanding the resignation of President Alexander Lukashenko.

Police said about 250 protesters had been detained in Minsk, Belta news agency reported.

Belarus has been in crisis since the August presidential election, which the opposition says has been rigged, while 26-year-old President Lukanshek denies it.
