Hundreds of thousands of people are expected over the next 20 days at the Venice Carnival

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected over the next 20 days at the Venice Carnival that began yesterday. The theme of this year's edition is "The moon, the cosmos and the stars", and the traditional "Flight of the Angel" in San Marco Square will be held on Sunday, reports Radio Moldova News.

According to our correspondent, Elena Postelnicu, over 300 artists will attend the event. Last night, it was the first parade on the Grand Canal, called the "Venetian Feast on the Water".

Several streets of the city are closed during the carnival, and on others, tourists can only walk in one direction, in order not to create blockages.
