Between February 18 and 20, 2014, the most violent street battles took place in the capital of Ukraine, Moldova 1 reports.

Following the violent struggle, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych fled to Russia. The Kiev parliament amended the Constitution and new presidential elections were held.

Shortly, Crimea was annexed by the Russian Federation and the war in eastern Ukraine began.
