Romania reports the highest number of new cases and deaths due to COVID-19

In the last 24 hours, 5,343 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, a new record for coronavirus infections since the beginning of the pandemic. Also, 107 Romanians died in the last 24 hours, the highest number of deaths recorded so far, writes digi24.ro.

To date, on October 28, in Romania, 222,559 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID - 19) were confirmed. 159,855 patients were declared cured.

Furthermore, Bucharest and 5 other counties have an infection rate higher than 3 per thousand inhabitants. In Cluj, the infection rate reached 4.09.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 5,343 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test.

To date, 6,681 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.
