Two earthquakes strike off Indonesia
A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck the Indonesian island of Sulawesi of Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The quake struck 129 km southeast of the city of Palu at a depth of 10 km. It was revised from an originally reported magnitude of 5.8 and depth of 36 km.
Also, a magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck off Indonesia’s Moluccas Islands on Sunday.
The quake struck in the sea, 147 km (92 miles) northwest of the city of Ternate and at a depth of 76.5 km.
There were no immediate reports of damage, Reuters reports.
A quake-and-tsunami disaster killed more than 2,000 people on Sulawesi last year.
