Eurovision 2021: The competition will take place in a limited format

The "Eurovision 2021" music contest will take place in a limited format due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the organizers announced. So far, several scenarios are being considered. Some of the artists may be present in Rotterdam, respecting the physical distance and testing frequently for COVID. But others could stay at home and present from there their piece to the competition. It is not know if the people’s access will be allowed, Moldova 1 reports.

"The Eurovision Song Contest will certainly make its long-awaited return in May of this year despite the pandemic, but in the current conditions, it is regrettably impossible to conduct the event in the way we were used to," said event supervisor Martin Osterdahl.

The competition was canceled last year, shortly after the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic in Europe. This year, the semi finals will take place on May 18 and 20, and the final - on May 22. 41 countries participate in the competition. The Republic of Moldova will be represented at Eurovision by the singer Natalia Gordienco.
