Polling stations to be organized in tents in three Moldovan settlements

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today informed that, given the lack of buildings meeting the requirements for the organization of polling stations, voters will be expected to vote in tents in three settlements of Moldova.

"Specially arranged tents will be set in two settlements, Bogdanovca Noua, which is part of the Cimislia town, and Bac, - part of the Bubuieci commune, Chisinau municipality. The decision was taken, after competent people had found out that the rooms provided by the local public administration did not meet the needed safety requirements. The third tent will be set in Cigarleni, central Ialoveni district. The roof of the community centre from the village – the location earlier established for the polling station, has recently collapsed there.

"In order not to endanger the life and public health of voters, election officials and other participants in the process, the CEC asked the General Inspectorate for Emergencies to provide the local public administration authorities with a tent with thermal and electrical equipment ", reads a press release of CEC.

The assets security made available to the local public authorities will be ensured by the Interior Ministry.
