CEC validates the results of the presidential election

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has validated the results of the presidential election. The draft decision on the totalization of the results for the second round of elections was presented by the president of the CEC, Dorin Cimil, in today's meeting of the commission and was backed by all its members.

"The electoral contestant Maia Sandu is declared elected. She scored the highest number of votes in the second ballot, 943,006 votes", said Dorin Cimil.

This decision is submitted to the Constitutional Court for the validation of the mandate of the President of Moldova.

We remind you that, on November 15, the second round of the presidential elections took place in Moldova. Following the election, PAS leader Maia Sandu scored 57.72% of the total vote, while her opponent, independent candidate Igor Dodon, won 42.28% of  votes.
