The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) informs that 60,030 citizens of the Republic of Moldova with the right to vote abroad, as well as residing in the localities on the left bank of the Nistru, have previously registered in order to participate in the presidential elections of November 1, 2020. The CEC informs that out of the total number of requests, 2,819 were made on paper.

In this context, the commission announces that it has notified the Intelligence and Security Service and the Interior Ministry in order to verify the veracity of the data from the pre-registration applications, submitted both in writing and online.

We remind you that the results of the pre-registration, the information on the number of voters who participated in the election organized in the national constituency, as well as the information obtained by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration from the competent authorities of the countries of residence are the basic criteria for organizing the opening of polling stations abroad.

According to the legal provisions, the polling stations, including those abroad, are set up at least 35 days before the voting day,  until September 26 this year.
