PLDM's presidential candidate, Tudor Deliu, was registered in the race

Today, September 19, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) approved the registration of Tudor Deliu as President of the Republic of Moldova, appointed by the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) and the electoral symbol. Tudor Deliu's registration in the race was unanimously supported by all CEC members.

According to the CEC, Tudor Deliu presented 21,375 signatures from 30 second-level administrative-territorial units. Out of the total number of signatures submitted to the CEC, a number of 17,517 signatures were declared valid.

Tudor Deliu is 64 years old. He is a master in constitutional and administrative law, has a rich experience in public administration, accumulated during his activity as mayor of Răzeni commune, Ialoveni, and as a professor at the Academy of Public Administration. For nine years, he was a Member of Parliament, serving as chairman of the PLDM parliamentary faction and as vice-chairman of the Committee on Legal Affairs, Appointments and Immunities. Tudor Deliu served as president of PLDM from 2018 until the party's IX Extraordinary Congress on August 16.

So far, at the CEC, the leader of Our Party, Renato Usatii, and the president of the DA Platform, Andrei Năstase, have been registered as electoral contestants. At the same time, the registration as a candidate of the leader of the Political Party "Pro Moldova", Andrian Candu, was rejected, who declared that he will contest in court the CEC’s decision.
