Constitutional Court validated the results of the Republican Referendum from 24 February
The Constitutional Court validated today, March 14, the results of the republican referendum from 24 February 2019.
According to the Central Election Commission, 40 per cent of voters participated in the referendum.
Thus, more than 730 thousand people voted for the reduction of the number of MPs from 101 to 61 and over 260 thousand voted against.
As for the second question, more than 780,000 voters opted for the possibility to dismiss the MPs, if they do not properly fulfill their obligations and over 200,000 - against.
The Constitutional Court's decision is final and cannot be subject to any appeal. It shall enter into force on the date of its adoption and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
