Fair in the capital with local fruits and vegetables

Happy to be able to sell their fruits and vegetables, equipped with masks and gloves, the farmers set up their stalls in the early hours of the morning, with freshly picked goods from the field. The most expensive were the strawberries, which sold for up to 70 lei per kilogram, double compared to last year. And in order to taste the first cherries, the buyers ended up taking 50 lei out of their pockets - a not too sweet pleasure, which not everyone can afford, reports Moldova 1.

Tatiana Borş came to the fair with cucumbers. The woman earns extra money from selling the vegetables she grows in her own garden.

The producers explain the increase in prices due to the lack of income in the last two months, but also the unfavorable weather conditions.

"It was very cold and because of that the harvest has shrunk." "This is the only living resource," say the producers.

Some buyers rushed to the fruit and vegetable stalls, but others said the prices seemed exaggerated.

"Strawberries are still expensive, 60 lei, that's a lot, it means a lot for us, for our pension. It's good that fairs have been organized. The market is still closed, but people need food," said buyers.

Agricultural producers may market their products on the basis of authorizations issued by sector prices and the corresponding accompanying documents. Such fairs will be organized in Chisinau until November 30.
