The bill by which citizens will pay less for the return of the billion will be debated in Parliament

Citizens will pay less for returning the stolen billion. A draft law, which provides for this amount to be covered from the profit of the National Bank of Moldova, was approved by the Government after it was discussed with the experts of the International Monetary Fund. The project will also be debated by the Parliament to enter into force, reports Moldova 1.

"If the statutory capital constitutes less than 4% of the total monetary obligations of the National Bank, the profit available for distribution will be allocated in full for the increase of the statutory capital. If the statutory capital constitutes from 4 to 10% of the total monetary obligations of the National Bank, 50% of the profit available for distribution will be allocated to the increase of the statutory capital, and 50% of the available profit will be transferred to the budget revenue of state,” declared the Minister of Finance, Serghei Puşcuţa.

The initiative belongs to President Igor Dodon who recently announced that solutions are being sought to cover these expenses from sources other than the budget. According to the president, the document provides for the reduction of the amount of 13.58 billion lei, by 25 - 20%, which the state will return to the National Bank in the next 25 years.
