The first tranche of EU and WHO aid will arrive in Chisinau tomorrow

The first tranche of aid announced by the European Union (EU) and the World Health Organization (WHO) for the Eastern Partnership countries will arrive tomorrow, July 14, in the Republic of Moldova. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Ion Chicu during a briefing, Moldova 1 reports.

According to the authorities, the first six locomotives for Calea Ferată will also arrive tomorrow, out of a batch of 12, this being the first locomotive acquisition since the declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova.

TRM.MD recalls that at the end of March, the authorities in Brussels announced that the Republic of Moldova is allocated 87 million euros to overcome the crisis, and this aid comes to supplement the funds totaling 140 million euros, which were allocated by the Union European Union to all Eastern Partnership countries in the regional assistance program.

The European Commission approved on Friday the disbursement of 30 million euros of macro-financial assistance for the Republic of Moldova.

This is the second and final tranche of the current macro-financial assistance program for Moldova.
