Remote negotiations with the IMF on a new three-year program
The team of IMF experts will launch remote negotiations for a new three-year program, which will focus on maintaining macroeconomic stability, supporting the recovery process after the COVID-19 pandemic, promoting good governance and institutional reforms, informs Moldova 1.
Discussions will also focus on protecting the independence of the BNM, improving fiscal policies and policies in the financial sector, reports the IMF statement, adding that the new program is requested by Chisinau authorities.
The last program with the IMF ended in March. In April, the fund allocated a $ 234 million loan in the context of the COVID-19 crisis.
