The Moldovan leu continues its massive depreciation trend

The Moldovan Leu continues its massive depreciation trend, registered in the last two weeks, falling below the psychological threshold of 20 units for one euro, Radio Moldova reports.

For today, the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has set an official rate of 20.10 lei for one euro and 17.77 lei for one US dollar.

The Moldovan leu lost in a single day 0.14 MDL versus the euro and 0.12 MDL against the US dollar.

As against the first day of April, the leu depreciated by almost 0.70 MDL against the European single currency and lost 0.46 MDL against the US dollar.

The Moldovan leu has not been so weakly compared to the euro since early May 2018, and against the US dollar it has not been at this level since September 2017.
