World Bank will provide 15 million euros to Moldova for the agri-food sector

The World Bank has approved a new $ 15 million financing for the Republic of Moldova. The money is dedicated to modernizing the country's food security system, said WB country manager Anna Akhalkats, Moldova 1 reports.

The financing would stimulate the growth of economic activity in the agri-food sector, for an increased and diversified production destined for both domestic and export markets. Since Moldova's accession to the World Bank in 1992, more than $ 1.3 billion has been allocated to more than 60 operations in Moldova.

Currently, the World Bank's portfolio includes 12 active projects, with total commitments of over $ 588 million.
