Moldovans, stuck at the Turkey-Bulgaria border, stay at the hotel

A number of 32 Moldovan passengers stranded on the Turkish-Bulgarian border are being held at a hotel in Turkey and are awaiting a decision by Bulgarian authorities to transit the country to get to the country, the IPN reported.

The entry into Bulgaria of third-country nationals, including those of the Republic of Moldova, is prohibited between July 15-31, unless there is a difficult humanitarian situation.

Daniel Voda, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, said the Moldovan diplomatic mission in Sofia had sent a request to the Bulgarian authorities to allow access to and transit through Bulgarian territory. Authorities are urging carriers and passengers to check travel alerts before setting off.
