Three new museums opened in Butuceni

Old carpets dating 200 years ago, iron tools and collections of national costume. All of them are being discovered in Butuceni, where three new museums have been opened recently: one of ethnography, one of archeology, and the third is devoted to iron items. The museums were arranged in old houses by the collector Vladimir Parnov, who for 25 years has the vice-president of the Moldovan collectors' association, Moldova 1 TV reports.

The ethnographic museum  reveals the traditional occupations of our ancestors, collections of national costumes, fabrics, furniture, old tools. In the traditional "Great Room" there is an impressive collection of carpets dating back 200 years ago.

"We have a rich collection of carpets from the interwar period, over 50 unique exhibits, which are no longer found in our villages. We have carpets from the 19th century too. We gather them with difficulty. This carpet, for example, is over 200 years old, "said the founder of the museums, Vladimir Parnov.

The Iron Museum illustrates various stages of metal processing and weapons and some tools.

"We called it the" Iron Museum "because here we gathered various agricultural tools used by peasants, but also military weapons from old times. We have a collection of arrows, spears, axes from different epochs. All these exhibits were found on the territory of Moldova, many of them were brought by the locals from the neighboring villages", said the founder of the museums, Vladimir Parnov.

The Archaeological Museum possesses an extensive collection of architectural vestiges. Visitors say they were delighted to discover the dimensions of our historical past.

"We have seen the traditions and history of Moldova. I have seen many unique exhibits, including stoves, woolen cloth, museums are special. Everything is very interesting here. It is very beautiful here in Butuceni", said the Indian tourist Stefan Seui.

The museum complex "Orheiul Vechi" is located between the villages Trebujeni and Butuceni in Orhei.
