International Opera and Ballet Festival "Maria Bieşu" starts today in Chisinau

The 27th edition of the International Opera and Ballet Festival "Maria Bieşu" starts today, September 6, in Chisinau.

This year's edition of the festival will be inaugurated with the opera "Norma" by Vincenzo Bellini. Also, it will include Giuseppe Verdi's "Masculine Ball" and "Rigoletto", Giacomo Puccini's "Turandot", Tchaikovsky's ballets "Lake of the Swans" and "Beauty in the Sleeping Forest", Ludwig Minkus's ballet "Don Quijote" and will end in a  gala concert, informs the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.

Renowned soloists from ten countries will evolve in this edition of the Festival, such as: Paul Gaugler (France); Adiarys Almeida and Taras Domitro (USA); Hanna Litvinova, Radu Poklitaru and Elena Starodubtseva (Ukraine); Bulent Bezduz (Turkey); Marco Caria, Daniella Capiello and Raffaelle Abete (Italy); Nester Martorell (Spain); Natalia Muradîmova (Belarus); conductors: Alexei Baklan (Ukraine); Alexandru Samoila (Turkey); Angelo Gabrieli (Italy); Veaceslav Cernuho-Volici (Ukraine); Anton Grishanin (Russia); choreographer: Ada Simone Totaro (Italy) and conductor Andreea Battistini (Italy).

notorious artists of the National Opera and Ballet Theater "Maria Bieşu" will be involved in the festival, such as: Valeriu Cojocaru; Tatiana Busuioc; Peter Racovita; Lilia Salomei; Viorel Zgardan; Iurie Maimescu; Lilia Istrati; Iurie Gasca  etc. will perform creations from classical repertory.
