“The Jews”, a new editorial

After 46 years since it was written by the late master of letters Nicolae Esinencu, the novel "The Jews" has seen the light of day. A book about the mass departure of Jews from the former USSR, which in those days of ideological censorship had no chance of being published. The manuscript was transliterated from Cyrillic into Latin, written and investigated in the Literary Research Laboratory of the "Onisifor Ghibu" Library, reports Moldova 1.

Only the writer Nicolae Esinencu, nicknamed by the literary critics "The Terrible Child of Literature", had the courage to write in 1974 about the exodus of Jews from the former Soviet Union to their homeland. Then it was not possible to see the light of day.

The novel was typed in just two days, in the creative house from Vadul lui Vodă, said Vitalie Răileanu, art critic.

The manuscript of the novel "The Jews", but also the entire archive, the writer bequeathed it to the "Onisifor Ghibu" Library, the Bibliographic Research Center of the institution. Vitalie Răileanu, the project coordinator, Ludmila Şumanschi, the doctor in philology, worked on the writing and editing of the novel, the postscript being signed by Anatol Moraru. There are still many unknown pages in the writer's archive.

Around the birthday of the poet Mihai Eminescu, a novelty is one of Nicolae Esinencu 's manuscripts - a study about the genius poet, written in 1985.

The study about Eminescu, but also other original writings of the late nonconformist writer, who passed away in April 2016, is yet to see the light of day.
