"Mihai Volontir" memorial house to be set in the actor's home village

"Mihai Volontir" memorial house will be established in the village of Glinjeni, Soldanesti district. The museum will be created in the native village of the famous actor Mihai Volontir in honor of the artist and will be introduced into the cultural circuit of the Republic of Moldova.

The Government approved at the last meeting a decision regarding the transfer of a real estate from the public property of the state to that of the village of Glinjeni.

The building  is offered for free at the request of the Glinjeni Village Hall.

Mihai Volontir was a theater and cinema actor, a musician and a deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. During his 57-year career, he played over 120 parts in theater and film performances, and Budulai's role in the TV series "Tiganul" made him famous worldwide.

In 2000, Mihai Volontir was decorated with the highest state distinction of the Republic of Moldova, "The Order of the Republic", and the Academy of Sciences of Moldova appointed him "Best Actor of the 20th Century in Moldovan Cinema".

Mihai Volontir died on September 15, 2015, at the age of 81.
